Areas of Interest

Arthroscopy (Minimal Surgery With The Use of Camera)

Joint Replacement
Fellow-trained at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, in minimal-invasive joint replacement of the hip and knee with modern implants (short stem, ceramic components, highly porous-coated materials).
Joint Preservation Surgery
Specialist in joint preservation surgery and cartilage repair techniques applied in young or active middle-aged patients with pre-arthritic conditions (fellow-trained in Heidelberg, Germany).
Why choose Adj. Prof. Dr. Malahias?
Less is more: Adj. Professor, Dr. Malahias chooses to perform only those types of operations in which he has been specifically trained through international fellowships.
‘Do good, or do no harm‘ (Hippocrates, 460-370 BC): We are always in favor of the least invasive treatments. For this reason, we prefer to try conservative means first and leave surgery as last option.
We are convinced that you are the expert of your body. Adj. Professor, Dr. Malahias informs and consults about all up-to-date treatment options; however, you are the one who takes the final decision.
Follow science, avoid fashion: We are staying at the cutting-edge of orthopedic science, while we avoid following therapeutic trends that are not evidence-based.
A native joint always feels better than an artificial one. In young patients, we are in favor of preserving the native joint instead of replacing it with an arthroplasty.
Being a doctor means to continuously learn, doubt and research. Adj. Professor, Dr. Malahias shares his time between treating patients and performing clinical and biomechanical research on the outcomes of new orthopedic treatments.
One doctor alone never knows it all. Adj. Professor, Dr. Malahias has built up an international network of experts to discuss and share knowledge about complex cases that he faces in order to provide the best therapeutic solution.
We believe that listening to our patients is our foremost duty. That is why we always dedicate a lot of time to each patient.
Our perspective is that we treat unique human beings, not impersonal clinical cases. Therefore, we provide personalized medical treatment based on your individual needs.
